Our Creative Director shares his thoughts on the difference and importance of user experience and user interface design
I was in a meeting last week explaining the difference and importance of UX and UI (web design) and thought I'd share this Jargon for those who’d like to understand more.
Why is it important?
Well, with today’s thirst for endless creativity, Graphic Designer roles have become increasingly more challenging. Take a Web designer for example. Web designers don’t just design websites, they design user experiences and the interface that brings to life that experience. Two distinct disciplines that warrant specialists in those given areas.
Graphic Designers either have to become exceptionally talented in all areas of design, or, they hone their talent and become experts in a select few areas. For example, user experience and user interface design are different disciplines but to understand both as a designer is absolutely essential.
So what's the difference between UX and UI?
As a client, buying into web design you should know and understand the difference too, because you’re going to want to ensure that what you invest into is going to achieve the results that your business deserves.
Respect to Designers in this challenging and innovative environment, web has come along way since I first started!
